Queer As F*ck (take 2)

A return to the best open-mic night in Manchester!

All the acts, as always, were incredible, but two highlights had to be KimmyBeatBox and 'Grey' which, the latter, is now going to the Edinburgh Fringe!

Regarding my short set, I presented two of my songs, “Cockblocked by my IBS!” and “Mummy Issues”.

It was no surprise, a crude song describing my favorite female celebrity crushes went down an absolute storm at the lesbian-run open-mic night. Particularly big laughs for “Viola Davis, I’d drink her piss” and the sheer mention of Gillian Anderson had the room erupt.

But there are always lessons to be learned. And the joy of open-mic nights is giving you the space and opportunity to do just that. Despite overwhelming positive feedback, it was clear the ending of “Mummy Issues” needed reworking. I look forward to the next chance to try out the new and improved version.
